Throughout the month, our school community will be engaging in a variety of events that celebrate Black excellence, history, and creativity. Our planned events include:
Song of the Day – Daily music highlights celebrating Black Brilliance.
Announcements – Focused on Black history, highlights, and thoughtful student expression.
February 17–20 – A Basketball Tournament in the gym during lunch hours run by our BSU.
JFR Library – Black History Month displays and resources highlighted all month long.
Black Futures Month Banquet and Social – An evening event hosted at GCVI.
Staff Book Club (all month) – Staff will be participating in a book club centered on Freedom Teaching by Matthew Kincaid.
Artist Performance - March 13 – A performance in the auditorium featuring EL Fox, with artist Waleed Abdulhamid.
