University and College Information

University Application Deadline: January 15, 2026 

College Application Deadline: February 1, 2026

Are you headed to College or University in the fall and need some financial assistance?  Here are some useful links and local bursary and/or scholarship applications:

  • Bill Hill Scholarship Program – 5 $2 500 scholarships awarded.  One in each of the following areas: Science & Technology, Arts, Business & Social Sciences, Agricultural and Skilled Trades & Applied Training 

  • (student loans from the Ontario Government)

  • Student Awards

  • Scholarships Canada

  • Royal Canadian Legion Bursary 

  • IODE Lord Dufferin Bursary ($500.00) - One available per participating Secondary School in Dufferin County.

  • Dufferin Women’s Institute Scholarship  – $250,  Awarded at Westside’s Commencement.  Must be attending a post-secondary institution.

  • Hockley Valley Women’s Institute Bursary  – Awarded at Westside’s Commencement.  Must be attending COLLEGE in the fall.

  • Dufferin Arts Council Scholarship  – Due July 1 each calendar year.

  • Dufferin Federation of Agriculture Bursary 

  • Hope Springs Spiritual Warrior Scholarship   (Due the end of April every year, see the link for this year’s date)

  • Horticultural Scholarship from Landscape Ontario

  • Are you a grade 12 student pursuing post-secondary studies that lead to a career in the justice sector? OJEN administers 22 bursaries province-wide that range from $500 – $1000 for students who are entering their first year of post-secondary studies in the fall.

  • Student athletes should check out the scholarships offered on the OFSAA website
