Thanksgiving is a time for giving and here at JMC we would like to give to those in need in our community. Mme Siversky and Mme Katsaounis/Mme Proude’s Grade 6 and Kindergarten classes will be running the Thanksgiving Food Drive this year. We will be collecting non-perishable items for the Chalmers Community Services Centre here in Guelph. Please think about donating to the food drive over the next two weeks. The food drive will run from Monday, September 26th to Friday, October 7th. Let’s fill

Welcome to another school year at John McCrae! Welcome back to returning students and welcome to those who are new to the John McCrae Community. While the first day of school is exciting, it can also be worrisome for parents (especially those who cannot accompany their child to school). We promise to look after your child!!!

- Students will be directed to the back of the school where all staff will be waiting.
- Signs will be posted with grades

Ecole John McCrae is hosting an electronic waste collection event, Saturday June 11th 8am – 2pm.
Drop off your used, unwanted or broken electronics to John McCrae Public School, 189 Water St. Guelph, for free!
Grade 6 students have been studying the growing impact of e-waste on the environment and are choosing to take action by hosting an e-waste collection event in partnership with OES (Ontario Electronic Stewardship). We are asking community members donate their used, unwanted or broken electronics instead of throwing them
FAMILY FUN NIGHT
-Family Fun Night is fast approaching. Please join us on Thursday, June 2nd from 5:30-8pm for a fun family time. If you would still like to contribute an item to your student’s classroom raffle basket, or something for our silent auction, please have it to the school by tomorrow, Wednesday, May 25th.

Guelph is hosting the provincial Special Olympics at the end of the month. The JMC Social Justice Club is raising awareness and funds for the participating athletes. The club will be selling iced chocolate popsicles for 1$ at first recess on Monday, May 16th and Wednesday, May 18th. Come on out for a cool treat that will help a great cause!
