INCLEMENT WEATHER: Community Use of Schools is cancelled at all UGDSB schools on Wednesday April 2, 2025.

The UGDSB will be sending out a test message to all families and staff this week.
The test message will be sent on Wednesday March 19 at approximately 4pm. It will be sent to staff and families via text, email and phone. The message will clearly indicate that it is a test and no action is required.
Thank you for your understanding.

Due to inclement weather, UGDSB schools and offices in Zones 2, 3, and 4 (Centre Wellington, North Wellington and Dufferin) are closed today to staff and students. Students are to shift to remote learning, where possible. Staff should not report to work in person, and should shift to remote working where possible. All buses and taxis are cancelled to those affected schools. Schools and offices in Zone 1 (Guelph) remain open today.


The Friday 5
1) Starting March 1st, all school wide messages (i.e. Friday 5) will be shared through a new platform called Thrillshare by Apptegy. You can receive texts, emails or phone calls. Text messages will come from 277849 and there is an option to opt out if you wish to no longer receive messages from the school.
2) Reminder: Please see the UGDSB Child Abuse Prevention Letter.
3) Lunchbox lunches are available to order every week! Monday is WokBox, Wednesday is Subway, Thursday is Harveys, and Friday is Swiss Chalet.
4) Upcoming EQAO Dates: Grade 6 EQAO testing will be the week of May 26th-30th. Grade 3 EQAO testing will be the week of June 2nd-5th. It will be important for students to be in attendance at school during those weeks.
5) March Break - *no school from March 10-14th, school resumes on March 17th

The Friday 5
1) Please join us in the KHPS library for our School Council Meeting on Mon. Feb. 24th at 6:30pm. All are welcome!
2) Pink Shirt Day on Wed. Feb 26th - wear pink to take a stand against bullying and show support for kindness and inclusivity.
3) In the coming weeks, grades 1, 3, 5, 7 will have age-appropriate lessons in their classrooms around child abuse and safety issues, including bullying, stranger danger and abuse by a known and trusted adult. Please see the UGDSB Child Abuse Prevention Letter for more details.
4) Last Call: Free Dental Fluoride on Thurs. Feb. 27th, 2025. If you would like to enroll your child in the free fluoride initiative, please use the QR code in the flyer or call 1-800-265-7293 ext 2661.
5) KHPS will be a polling station for the upcoming Provincial Election on Thurs. Feb. 27th from 9am-9pm. We will be directing voters to enter the school through the Community Use doors and go straight into the gym.
