Wellington Heights Secondary School

WDG Public Health has notified us that an individual in our school has tested positive for COVID-19. As a result, Public Health has provided us with letters to forward by email to potential high-risk contacts in specific classes and busses on UGCloud.  Students should check their email accounts for more information.

Our building is safe and remains open to staff and students. As always, custodial staff will ensure thorough cleaning and disinfecting of affected areas in the school, as part of our enhanced cleaning protocol.

We will continue to work closely with Public Health and take their direction as they complete their investigation. Where Public Health determines there was a transmission risk to others in the school, they will perform a risk assessment for any contacts. All students and staff determined to be at high risk of exposure will be directed to isolate and recommended to be tested within their isolation period. Please note that Public Health has different self-isolation requirements for individuals who are vaccinated vs unvaccinated/partially vaccinated.

The identity of the individual is protected by privacy legislation and will not be shared.
