An overview of the program

The Skills Upgrading Program is designed to help you build your skills in reading, writing, and math to move on to employment, high school credits, apprenticeship programs, or post-secondary education such as college programs. We also assist learners with independence goals of learning basic computers or furthering their essential skills for work.

Our program runs from the beginning of September until the end of June with day and evening class times available in most of our locations. We have flexible schedules to meet your needs and goals.

This Employment Ontario program is funded in part by the Government of Canada and the Government of Ontario. It is a FREE program for all learners.

Program Eligibility

Learners must be at least 18 years of age and not registered in a secondary school. If English is a second language, learners must have a Canadian Language Benchmark of 6 in speaking and listening to attend the program, but benefit from a combination of English as a Second Language training and Skills Upgrading if at this level.

The program is FREE. There is no cost for students in this program. The funding is provided by Employment Ontario through the Government of Ontario. For those who are eligible, we can assist with the costs of transportation and daycare.
