The responsibility for correct registration rests with the student and his or her parent or guardian(s) in consultation with Westside’s teachers and / or administrators. Material required includes proof of residency (i.e., drivers license), previous years report card, student transcript, etc.
Students must live within Westside’s geographical boundary. Permission to attend outside a school’s boundary area must be granted by the two school Principals and the Superintendent of Education. Transfer forms are available in the Main Office.
Moving away from the Westside area? Please call our office at 519-938-9355 ext.212 so we can prepare your child’s records for transfer to their new school.
If you are moving into the Westside area please see below for registration information.
You will need to bring with you:
- proof of residence in the Westside area (ie – driver’s license, purchase of house/rental agreement, telephone bill, etc)
- copy of student’s birth certificate
- yellow immunization form (copy will be sent to the Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Health Unit)
- a copy of the student’s most recent report card
- a copy of the student’s transcript
- a copy of the student’s IEP if applicable
- any other papers/documents that are relevant for the school to be aware of
You will need to complete a biographical registration form, as well as a course selection sheet as part of the registration process. This can be completed at the school.
To Book a Registration Appointment:
Please call Donna Paterson at 519.938.9355 ext 212. Mrs. Paterson will provide you with a date and time to fill out the appropriate documents, and to meet with a guidance counselor. You must book an appointment if you want to register!
Thanks to the very generous donations from Food and Friends, Westside Secondary School now has a breakfast program for those students who may not have the resources or opportunity to have breakfast before coming to school. Students can now drop in to Student Services between 8:30am and 8:45am to grab a quick breakfast to jump-start their day.
We welcome donations from families and local businesses. Please contact Nicole Leclair to arrange for a donation or to answer any questions.
