The History of Centre Dufferin District High School

Centre Dufferin District High School was built in 1954.  The official opening was Thursday October 14, 1954, with a large crowd in attendance.  The first principal at Centre Dufferin was J. Charles Sawyers.
Over the early years Centre Dufferin at times was a school for grades 8 to 13, in 1975 the school went under major renovations and a gym was added along with technology class rooms.  Our current student population is approximately 850.
Centre Dufferin District High School “Home of the Royals” is a proud part of our community.  Our goal is to create a welcoming safe and friendly environment where all students develop a pathway that leads to future success.
