Other Scholarship Tips

  • Check with private organizations, such as insurance companies, employment unions & banks to see if they offer scholarships/bursaries. 

  • Check if the schools you applied to offer entrance scholarships.  Students are automatically considered (no application necessary) for entrance scholarships, based on their academic average.

  • Contact the Financial Aid Office at your respective college & universities to gain a better understanding of what is offered at that institution, in first-year and beyond. 

  •  Check out the Scholarship Report posted in Grade 12 Google Classroom, containing upcoming award deadlines – published every couple of months.

The Scholarship Report

Our school has access to The Scholarship Report Library, an online resource designed to help students find scholarships, awards, bursaries, enrichment opportunities, and other post-secondary information.

Note: Students must access their Grade 12 Google Classroom for the The Scholarship LIbrary login & password.

The Library includes:

  • A searchable database of scholarships and awards

  • Scholarships for a wide range of interests, achievements, programs, and career pathways

  • The monthly Scholarship Report Newsletter

  • Articles, tips, and resources to help students with scholarship applications and post-secondary planning

Financial Aid Offices

All colleges and universities have their own scholarships, bursaries and grants, some program specific and some not. Visit the colleges’ and universities’ websites to see what each has to offer.

There are two kinds of support: 1) Entrance – which students apply for (or are automatically considered for) as a high school student entering post-secondary  2) In-course – which students apply for once enrolled in and attending the school. There are many large in-course scholarships and bursaries so students should continue to seek information on these from the Financial Aid Office at their post-secondary institution.

Ontario Learn & Stay Grant

Students can apply for funding to pay for your tuition and books when you study in nursing, paramedicine, medical laboratory technology/science or family medicine through the Learn & Stay Grant.
