Winter Walk Day may be over, but there's still plenty of time to walk or wheel to school this winter.
Walking and wheeling to school is good for the environment, supports children’s health, and helps them connect with their neighbourhood. This February, ask your kids what they enjoy most about their school journey! #WinterWalk&Wheel Month.

Good afternoon,

With today's inclement weather day at Westside, the UGDSB has revised the exam schedule as shown below:

Exam Day 3 and Exam Day 4 to be scheduled on Friday

Exam Day 3 - Friday morning
Exam Day 4 - Friday afternoon

Grade 9 - With the exception of Grade 9 1W Math classes writing EQAO, all remaining Grade 9 subject examinations for Semester 1 will be cancelled, and final marks will be based on term work and culminating activities.

Grades 10–12- To accommodate the need to schedule two examinations within a single day, teachers of Grades 10–12 are asked to adjust their examinations to a maximum length of 1.5 hours.

Tues Jan 27 - No Buses (Instructional Day)
Wed Jan 28 - Exam Day 1
Thurs Jan 29 - Exam Day 2
Fri Jan 30 - AM - Exam 3 - PM - Exam 4
Mon Feb 2 - PA Day
Tues Feb 3 - PA Day
Wed Feb 4 - 1st Day of Class Sem 2

Teachers will use their professional judgment in planning and administering exams and will be mindful of the challenges students may face when writing two exams in one day.
We appreciate your patience and support as we navigate this exam period.

We’re only a few weeks away from February, which is Black History Month. Black History Month is a time when people across Canada learn about and honour the history, achievements, and contributions of Black Canadians and their communities. Throughout the month, we will celebrate Black excellence, learn from history, and reflect on how we can continue to act, today and into the future. We’ll start with a look at the Canadian perspective, then throughout February we’ll dig into the work being done in the UGDSB.
