  1. Information for Graduates

Arrival Time and Gowns for your Ceremony

Arrive AT LEAST 15 MINUTES early for your Ceremony. You have been emailed your Ceremony Start time.

Enter at the Blue Doors near the Accessible Entrance (Yorkshire St. Parking lot) to get a gown and join your ceremony group.

During the Ceremony

Once you’ve descended the staircase and received your diploma, out of respect for the other graduates and their families, you will be seated at the bottom of the stairs until the full commencement ceremony has ended. Your grad cap will be waiting for you on your chair. You may choose to put this on when you are seated.

Leave Personal Belongings with a Guest or in your pocket so your hands are empty

Please leave items such as purses and phones with a guest. You do not want these items in your grad photos. Electronic devices should be turned off during the ceremony.

Professional Pictures

As our gift to you, a professional photographer will capture your graduation. Photos will be available at no cost in a password-protected gallery later this summer. The link to this gallery and password is on your diploma envelope.

After the Ceremony

We hope you take photos at the Arch or elsewhere on the grounds. We ask that you keep the noise to a respectful level as other graduates will be having their ceremony immediately following yours on the front lawn. You may watch your peers graduate from the front lawn as well! Please return your gown to the Math Doors (Yorkshire Street parking lot). At this time you will be given your real diploma.
