Commencement Update and FAQ for students – May 18, 2023

Our 2023 Guelph Collegiate Commencement will be here at GCVI on Monday, June 26th.

The time is from 3 pm – 8 pm. Does that mean I have to be here for 5 hours?
No!! You will have to be here for one 30 – 45 minute graduation ceremony. We will assign your graduation ceremony time.
If you want to, you can hang out on the lawn and watch everyone graduate, but that’s not required.

Can I graduate with my friends?
Yes! See below for more details.

How much does Commencement Cost?

Zero $. You will get a grad cap to keep and borrow a graduation gown for the event. Families do not pay for tickets. It is free!

What do I have to do now?

Get ready to give us some information.

On Friday, May 19 we’ll be sharing 2 forms on the Grade 12 Classroom.

  1. A Group Request Form
If you and your friends want to be in the SAME ceremony time, you must complete this request first.

One person will fill this out for the group.

You can tell us if there is ONE hour that can’t work for you between 3 pm – 8 pm.

Talk to each other first. You can only be on ONE list.
These Group requests are due on Monday, May 29.

2. 2023 RSVP Form –  Everyone needs to complete this form!
You will confirm the number of guests and other details on this form.
If you aren’t on a group form, you can also indicate if ONE hour doesn’t work for you between 3 pm – 8 pm.

So, start talking with your friends and family about these choices!
