COMMENCEMENT MONDAY JUNE 26TH, 2023-IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Commencement Update

 

We are so excited to see you at the Guelph Collegiate 2023 Commencement on Monday June 26! 

Please review this post for important information. In the event of rain, your Commencement Ceremony will be held in the Guelph Collegiate Auditorium at the scheduled time.

 

Grad Arrival: Arrive 20 minutes early at the Blue Doors near the Accessible Entrance in the Yorkshire Street parking lot. You will be given a graduation gown to wear and given the plan for your ceremony. You have been emailed your ceremony time.

 

Guests: Proceed to the Event Waiting Area near the Office Doors or indoors near the main office (if it is raining). Guests will be ushered into the ceremony seating at the start time. There is ceremony seating for four (4) guests per graduate. All other guests are welcome to watch from the front lawn. Lawn chairs are encouraged! If it rains, we will have extra chairs available in the auditorium and standing room as well.

 

Ceremony: For the graduation ceremony grads will sit with their graduating group and have their own moment on the stairs/stage.  Claire Teri, a professional photographer and GCVI alumna, will capture this graduation moment. 

 

Professional Photos: As our gift to the grads, these photos will be available at no cost to you on Claire Teri’s gallery website in August. Students/families have been emailed the passcode.

Timing: Each ceremony is expected to take approximately 25 minutes.

 

Return Gown/Composite Photo: Grads will return their gown and prop diploma to room 16, bottom floor, where they may pick up their Grad Composite photo and awards as well. 

 

Diploma: Grads may pick up their real diploma and post-commencement awards after July 12th from the GCVI main office. Hours are Monday – Thursday, 9 am – 3 pm.  

 

Parking: There is no onsite parking for this event. We encourage you to take transit, walk or park on the side streets. Guelph CVI address is 155 Paisley Street. 

 

Accessibility: If guests have any accessibility needs, including parking requests, email [email protected] to help us properly support your guest. If needed, there is an elevator by the blue doors in the Yorkshire Street Parking lot.
