Grad Committee

Hey Grads! Prom is quickly approaching and tickets  are now available on school cash online until the end of the week for GCVI students! So if you want to skip the line, and get your tickets cashless, secure a spot today online! 

Starting Monday and ending Tuesday next week, tickets will be for sale at lunch and after school for those wanting to use cash, or purchase tickets for out of school guests. So, plan ahead grads, and get your tickets either online this week, or in person at the start of next week! Don’t forget to bring your permission forms in too! Can’t wait to see you all at the Italian Canadian Club!

Football

There will be a brief football meeting tomorrow, Wednesday April 24th in room 15 at the beginning of lunch.  This is for anyone interested in junior football or football training.  If you have any questions please see Mr. Crabbe or Mr. Katsube.

Art Council

Attention all youth artists aged 12-24! Guelph Youth Council is excited to announce our upcoming art showcase featuring talented young artists from our community. Join us to support the arts and creativity in Guelph on Friday, May 3rd at the West End Rec Centre’s gymnasium. To submit your art, scan the QR code on the posters around the school and drop-off schedules will be emailed to you after submission. Don’t forget to check out our art club every other Friday in room 16 for more opportunities to get involved in the arts. See you there!

Hello Gaels! It’s finally here…the Fourth Edition of The Gael Gazette is published and can be found in the Library Learning Commons, the Main Office, or through scanning the QR codes on the posters around the school. Come read all about the amazing students and events that have taken place these past months at GCVI!

Music

Good luck to the GCVI Jr Symphonic Band who are performing today at the Guelph Kiwanis Music Festival. Jr Band members are reminded to come to the music room at 9:20 this morning to load the bus.

EARTH WEEK

Thank you to everyone who participated in the G.C.V.I. reuse and reduce sorting contest yesterday! And congratulations to Mohammad Khan in Grade 9, with the fastest time of 3.8 seconds to sort all twelve items into their correct classroom recycling, reuse and trash bins!”

The Sustainability Council would also like to thank Julianne Berg who set up and ran the contest!

Chamber Choir

Hey, CHAMBER CHOIR! Here’s your quick reminder that we’ll be meeting at 3:40 today after school in the music room to celebrate the end of our regular season. Ms. Osborne will also be dropping the big news and completing the sign up indicating interest for performing at the Foreigner and Styx show at Budweiser Stage in June. Don’t miss out!

Good morning Gaels! Today is green and blue shirt day, and it’s great to see the flood of green and blue clothing all around the school. Keep up the eco-friendly mentality, and let’s all be sustainable together!

D-Stress

Hello Gaels! Are you trying to find a fun way to celebrate Earth Week at GCVI? Tomorrow during lunch, the D-Stress club is making seed bombs while learning about the benefits of plants for your mental health. Students’ seed bombs will get planted during the Big Dig and help to beautify our campus!!! If you are interested in participating, make sure you fill in the Google form on the D-Stress classroom with the code vw7f5h6. The form closes today so sign up ASAP.

GCVI Boys Rugby

Today marks the thrilling start of the Senior and Junior boys rugby season with an electrifying rematch of last year’s D10 finals. Get out your green and come show your support for our Gaels as they hit the turf this afternoon at Varsity Field at the University of Guelph.

The Seniors will kick off their battle at 3:00pm, followed by the Junior team defending their hard-earned championship title at 4:00 pm. Let’s pack the stands and cheer on our teams to victory! Go Gaels!
