Commencement
Attention Grade 12 Graduates! If you plan on attending Commencement you MUST fill out the RSVP Google form by FRIDAY, MAY 24th. If you want to attend with a group, there is a separate Google form that must be filled out by ONE member of your group. The Google forms are available on the Grade 12 Classroom as well as on the GCVI website.
Run Club
Attention all run club participants. To celebrate the warm weather, come join us today after school for our run! We encourage everyone to join us in the outdoor classroom at 3:30. All run club participants today will get a free freezie upon completion of our run! We hope to see you all out there Gaels!
SASH
Hey Gaels,
This is just a reminder that we will be having a SASH meeting today in room 206 at lunch. We will be playing, Snakes and Ladders. Snakes and Ladders is a game that originated in northern India and Nepal. It is played on a board with 100 squares and players move up the board by rolling a pair of dice. The snakes bring players down and the ladders allow the players to climb higher. The first player to reach the final square, entirely by chance, is the winner.
Music
On Friday and Saturday the GCVI bands and orchestras wrapped up their performance at Musicfest Canada Nationals in Toronto. The GCVI Stage Band and Sr Band were awarded the National Silver Medal for their performance. The GCVI Orchestra performed brilliantly and won the Canadian National Gold medal for the very first time. GCVI now holds the distinction of being just one of two schools in Canada to have won a national gold medal in all 5 categories of Musicfest Canada. Congrats to everyone for an amazing year.
Music
On Thursday night the Upper Grand Specialist High Skills Major Program presents Battle of the Bands. This great night of music will feature rock bands from 4 local high schools, as well as some special guests. The show starts at 7pm in the JF Ross auditorium. Come cheer on our GCVI reps as they rock the stage.
Athletic Banquet
Hey Gaels, As the year is coming to an end, we hope to acknowledge your hardwork and dedication at the Athletic Banquet! You’re gonna get awards, hear speeches and see photos of all your accomplishments throughout the year. Athletes can sign-up to buy a ticket via the google form on the Athletics GCVI instagram. If there are any concerns please reach out to Mr. Waterfield regarding tickets or otherwise. They are $15 per person. Don’t forget to reserve your ticket and we hope to see you there!!! June 12th…….
