Summer School 2019

The following new credit courses are being offered at the Grant Evans Education Centre (40 Amelia St.) in Orangeville: ENG2D, ENG3U, ENG4C, ENG4U, MCR3U. TFR3C/4C (Culinary Arts Management) is being offered at Westside S.S. Courses will run from July 3rd – July 23rd (depending on enrollment).  Students must apply through their myblueprint account. Course Selection for the 2019-2020 School Year

Course Selection will take place in February. In early February, Guidance counsellors visited classrooms to discuss the process of selecting courses for the next school year.  Course selection for current students was due Friday, February 22, 2019.

2019-2020 Specialized Programs

Dufferin area secondary schools are partnering to offer the following programs for Dufferin county students.  For details and information, please click the link beside each program.  See a Guidance Counsellor for more information.

  1. Community Environmental Leadership Program (CELP) – Grade 10
  2. Digital Historian Project (DHP)  – Grade 11
  3. IDEA (Interdisciplinary Arts) – Grade 11

Dual Credits 

Dual Credits are college courses that count on both your secondary school diploma as well as a college program. Co-operative Education

Cooperative Education is a ministry-approved program that allows students to earn secondary school credits while completing a work placement.  The program consists of a co-op course monitored by a cooperative education teacher, a related curriculum course in any subject, and a work placement.  Click here to visit our school Co-op web page.

Specialist High Skills Major (SHSM)

The Specialist High Skills Major (SHSM) is a ministry-approved specialized program that allows students to focus their learning on a specific economic sector while meeting the requirements for the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) and assists in their transition from secondary school to apprenticeship training, college, university, or the workplace.  Click here to visit our school SHSM web page.
