‘Get Creative Ponsonby’ showcases STEM

May 30, 2016

On Sat.May 28, Ponsonby Public School’s School Council provided an excellent day of activity coupled with a clearer understanding of what Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) might entail.

Children and their parents built projects out of cardboard provided by parents and New Orleans Pizza in Elora. The projects were put together with the assistance of cardboard connectors by Makedo. Builders could either follow plans provided or create their own.

Groups also erected tall structures out of various materials like clothes pins, popsicle sticks, or cups. Some put together catapults and tried out the marble maze. All had a great time and were fed healthy snacks to boot!

A special thank you goes to our school council and especially to April Bates who spearheaded the event.
