The Community Environmental Leadership Program (CELP) at Norwell DSS received a remarkable recognition award June 24, 2015 from the Ontario Heritage Trust, Young Heritage Leaders.

The award recognizes Norwell CELP’s ten year commitment to service to the Waterloo Ground Water Children’s Festival.

Eleven CELP students were invited to the Waterloo Region Council chambers in Kitchener, where they were introduced by the originator of the Water Festival, Pete Grey.

“Service to others is a pillar of the CELP program,” said teacher Michael Hendrick. “We were honoured to receive recognition for our efforts to help educate young people about the conservation of water in our communities.”
