UGDSB students compete in regional photography competition

GUELPH, Ontario – On March 21, students from Upper Grand DSB secondary schools, competed in the regional Skills Ontario photography competition. The competition was held in Guelph at The Round Table.

Twelve students from Guelph Collegiate Vocational Institute, Centre Wellington District High School and Wellington Heights Secondary School put their photography skills to the test.

The competition judged students on their photography as well as their resume. The photography judge was local photographer Grant Martin. Doris Aiken judged the resume portion of the event.

Miranda, a student from CWDHS won the gold medal at the event. Winning silver was GCVI student, Madeline. CWDHS took home more than one medal when Ashton won the bronze.

Skills Ontario Photography Competition

The teacher coaches that attended the event said that it was a great day and great venue with excellent photography.

Miranda will advance to the next Skills Ontario competition in Toronto.

Congratulations to all the UGDSB students that participated in this competition and those who took home medals. Good luck to Miranda in Toronto!
