Attention Guelph students: Applications being accepted for the Guelph Police’s Youth in Policing Initiative

GUELPH, Ontario – Are you a student who lives in Guelph and has an interest in a career in policing?

The Guelph Police Service is now accepting applications for its Youth in Policing Initiative (YIPI). Applications are being accepted until April 28, 2019.

YIPI was created in 2006. The program provides students with an educational summer working experience and a firsthand look at police work in Guelph.

Students in the program gain experiences in many sectors of the Guelph Police Service and will contribute to the work environment through meaningful work assignments. Students will also benefit from developing their leadership skills.

The position is a full-time, paid position and will give students the opportunity to become CPR and First Aid certified.

Students applying for the position must be a resident within the City of Guelph, must be between the ages of 15 and 18 and must be returning to school in September 2019.
