GUELPH, Ontario – The Upper Grand District School Board is inviting the public to provide input on the board’s mission, vision and guiding principles.

A survey on Future Directions is available online at www.ugdsb.ca/future. Print copies of the survey can be picked up in schools.

The board began working on a new strategic plan last fall by establishing a committee co-chaired by Trustee Linda Busuttil (Guelph, Wards 1 and 5) and Dave Walpole, a former superintendent and past Director of Program Policy at the Ontario Public School Boards Association.

“We live in a rapidly changing world, with significant challenges and pressures,” commented board chair Mark Bailey. “The board’s mission, vision and guiding principles help us to stay focused on what’s important, and shape our decisions.”

“It’s important for us to revisit this every so often. Input from parents and the community, staff and even students will help us to ensure we’re on the right track.”

The survey asks respondents to agree or disagree with seven short statements, and provides opportunities for more detailed comments.

Responses will be accepted until May 31.
