Brant Ave. PS receives donation of 1,500 books

May 16, 2016

Just in time for some summer reading – Brant Avenue Public School is the lucky recipient of 1,500 books.

The school applied for a 2016 Indigo Love of Reading Foundation Literacy grant, and while the school didn’t receive a grant, it did finish in the Foundation’s top 20 list of runner-up schools.

Impressed by the school’s commitment to literacy education and its programming in place to support this commitment, the Foundation partnered with First Book Canada to donate 1,500 books to the school and students ahead of the summer holidays.

Since 2004, the Indigo Love of Reading Foundation has given more than $23 million to over 2,600 schools across the country. Since 2009, First Book Canada has distributed more than 4.5 million new books to children in Canada.

Congratulations to Brant Avenue PS!
