CCVI students place in annual OBEA accounting contest

GUELPH, Ontario – Every year, the Ontario Business Educators’ Association (OBEA) hosts an online accounting contest for secondary students.
This year, fourteen students from Centennial Collegiate Vocational Institute participated in the contest. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the contest was a little different this year, as students participated at home.
The contest was held on May 27 and had approximately 100 participants from across the province compete at the Junior level and 44 participants compete at the Senior level.
Each participant was given 1.5 hours to complete 100 multiple choice questions based on the Accounting curriculum.
At CCVI many of the participants placed in their category:
- Dylan, grade 11, placed 3rdin the Junior contest
- Myles, grade 12, placed 1st in the Senior contest
- Claire, grade 11, placed 5thin the Senior contest
- Yuti, grade 11, placed 10thin the Junior contest
Congratulations to all the students that placed during the contest and to all the students who participated in the OBEA Accounting contest.
