Celebrating Canada’s youngest writers at Salem PS

June 22, 2016

A student from Salem Public School has won a national writing contest and will have her work published in a collection released this month.

Salem student Megan has been selected as the first place winner from students in grade three in the National Student Short Story Contest, held by Polar Expressions Publishing.

Megan’s winning entry, “No Fishing, Osprey!” is published in the book Flight, which features top entries, including one from Salem PS student Fiona.

Polar Expressions is a small publisher that showcases the amazing work of Canadian students. Each year the publisher holds two student contests, for poetry and short stories. The contests are free to enter and open to all students in Canada, in kindergarten through grade 12.

Congratulations to Megan and Fiona!
