Centre Dufferin DHS celebrates food from different cultures

December 21, 2016

SHELBURNE, Ontario – Students at Centre Dufferin District High School celebrated diversity in the best possible way…with food.

From December 12 to 15, students highlighted the diversity of the school through its inaugural Tastes of Shelburne Week.

Students offered bite sized samples of food in the front foyer of the school during the lunch hour. Community members and the food classes were on hand to prepare the food.

Student volunteers decorated the front foyer, played music and handed out samples to staff and students.

Cultures that were celebrated included Caribbean, Rural/Farming, Indian and First Nations, Métis and Inuit cuisine. The event was a success and the food was amazing.

This event gave students the opportunity to celebrate diversity in a unique way. It also allowed students to connect with community members.
