Compass Run for Food raises funds for UGDSB breakfast programs

GUELPH, Ontario – This year’s Compass Run for Food fundraiser was a great success and saw lots of participation from Upper Grand District School Board students and families.

Compass Run for Food is an annual 5K and 10.5K run that raises money to help feed kids and families in Dufferin County.

On June 8, more than 230 elementary students from Dufferin area schools competed in the 5K School Challenge. Through the generosity of schools, sponsors and community volunteers, the event was able to raise $60,000 for Dufferin County Food Banks and School Breakfast Programs.

As a result of the run, $6,000 will be donated to Dufferin County breakfast programs.
