CWDHS hosts CWOSSA wrestling tournament

FERGUS, Ontario – On February 19, Centre Wellington District High School hosted athletes from all over the region for the Central Western Ontario Secondary Schools Association (CWOSSA) wrestling tournament.
CWOSSA saw more than 200 athletes from 30 schools arrive at CWDHS for the wrestling tournament. Students were from Brantford, Kitchener-Waterloo, Cambridge, Guelph, Wellington and Dufferin.
Upper Grand District School Board students at the tournament were from Centennial CVI, John F. Ross CVI, Centre Wellington DHS, Guelph CVI, Erin DHS and Centre Dufferin DHS.
Upper Grand students performed well during the tournament. Guelph CVI won the boys and girls titles and were the overall champion of the tournament. CWDHS finished second in the boys division and third overall.
Eighteen student wrestling athletes from GCVI, CWDHS, EDHS, John F. Ross CVI and CDDHS have advanced to the Ontario Federation of School Athletic Association (OFSAA) tournament in Sault Ste. Marie in March.
Great job to everyone involved in the CWOSSA tournament and good luck to everyone who advanced to OFSAA.
