École Guelph Lake families participate in city-wide clean-up

GUELPH, ON – Each year in May, the City of Guelph holds its annual Clean and Green Community Clean-Up. This city-wide initiative sees residents from across the city cleaning up parks and neighbourhoods. 

This year, École Guelph Lake Public School signed up to clean up Pollinator Park and the Eastview Sports Park, which are located near the school.  

Families were invited to join the school on April 29, 2023, from 8:30 am to 11:30 am. Over 154 participants registered to help the school clean up the community. Despite the rainy conditions, many students and their families were on hand to help with the clean-up. 

Goals and outcomes from this event included working with students and families to create a positive impact on the nearby play spaces in their community, building a home-school-community connection with the outdoors, and maintaining and promoting the schools eco initiatives.  

Great job with this clean-up!
