Edward Johnson PS Principal eats a bug for Food Bank
November 6, 2017
GUELPH, Ontario – L’école Edward Johnson Public School principal Katherine Wainman ate a bug at the school on November 6, as a reward for students collecting food items for the Guelph Food Bank.
The school had the donation goal off filling three bins for the food bank. Wainman told students that if they reached this goal, she would eat a bug at an assembly.
The school gathered in the gym before morning recess to watch Wainman eat the bug. Wainman joked with students about how she was going to eat a gummie worm instead. Wainman finally caved to the students booing and ate a real bug, as students and staff cheered her on.
