Elora PS families and staff participate in online dance and mindfulness event

June 4, 2021

On the evening of June 3, families and staff at Elora Public School participated in an online program exploring dance and mindfulness.

The online program was led by Toronto-based X Movement, a group that offers energizing experiences to schools, children and youth, with the hope of turning students’ inner thinking from “no, I can’t,” to “yes, I can!”

Participants were led by Ren, one of the artists at X Movement, learning dance moves inspired from disco days, the world of Naruto, K-Pop musicians, and Salsa dancing. It was lively, interactive, and there were multiple opportunities for families to share their thoughts. As well as inspiring participants with an energetic and expressive performance, Ren embedded mindfulness techniques right into the dance moves. Staff said that everyone who participated had an amazing time and were smiling throughout the one-hour program.

The virtual program offered to Elora PS families and staff was made possible through Parent Involvement funds.
