Fort McMurray fundraising continues at Spencer Ave. ES with ‘Jars of Hope’

May 31, 2016

After a successful “jump off” fundraiser, Spencer Avenue Elementary School in Orangeville is finding additional ways to raise money for Fort McMurray.

A few weeks ago, at the “Jump Off for Fort McMurray,” the school raised $670 for the Red Cross to support fire relief efforts.

The school is hoping to raise additional funds, so starting today, staff and members of the Fort McMurray Club are bringing back the “Jars of Hope” campaign.

The campaign consists of stuffing jars with items such as chalk, skipping ropes, gift cards, craft items and sporting equipment.

During the week of June 13 to 17, students will be able to purchase raffle tickets to place in a draw for the jars. All students in the school will be given one ticket to participate in the event, and additional tickets may be purchased – all proceeds raise will support Fort McMurray fire relief.
