GCVI Chamber Choir invited to perform at Carnegie Hall in NYC

GUELPH, ON – The Guelph Collegiate Vocational Institute’s Chamber Choir has been invited to play at Carnegie Hall in New York City on Sunday, June 18, 2023.
In spring 2022, the GCVI Chamber Choir had the chance to meet and perform with Dr. Kira Omelchenko, the Associate Dean and Director of Orchestras at Laurier University. After making a very good impression on Dr. Omelchenko, she invited the choir to perform at her conducting debut at Carnegie Hall this spring.
The choir will be performing Dreamweaver by composer Ola Gjeilo. GCVI will be joined by the New England Symphony Ensemble, a choir from Texas and a choir from Indiana.
The concert will take place on June 18 at 2:00pm in Carnegie Hall’s Stern Auditorium/Perelman Stage.
The GCVI Chamber Choir is dedicating this concert to one of their peers who sadly passed away this year.
