GCVI students set to perform at River Run Centre

December 4, 2023

GUELPH, ON – On December 7, the Guelph Collegiate Vocational Institute’s Chamber Choir is set to perform at the River Run Centre with Susan Aglukark.

Aglukark is a seven-time Juno award winner, including being the first Inuk artist to win a Juno award, and a recipient of the Order of Canada.

According to the River Run Centre’s website, “With Christmas songs in Inuktitut and English, this magical evening will feature music and storytelling of Inuit culture. Susan’s beautiful voice and engaging stage presence will take you on a heartwarming journey through the season.” During Aglukark’s performance the GCVI Chamber Choir will be joining her on stage for a few holiday songs.

According to GCVI Chamber Choir student Tuuli, “To have the opportunity to perform with Susan Aglukark, is honestly one of the coolest things I’ve done. I just feel really honored to be singing with her. I listened to Susan as a child, and it feels really surreal being able to perform with her on stage now.”

Tickets for the concert are still available on the River Run Centre’s website. CLICK HERE.

The concert will take place Thursday, December 7, 2023, at 8:00pm on the Main Stage at the River Run Centre.

Congratulations GCVI on this amazing opportunity!
