August 6, 2019

GUELPH, Ontario – Calling all first-time bus riders – a free program is available that will teach students about riding the bus, prior to the start of the school year.

On Tuesday August 27, Wellington-Dufferin Student Transportation Services (STWDSTS) is hosting its annual First Rider Program.

The program provides first-time bus riders and their families with an introduction to school bus riding procedures and safety through a videotape presentation, a question and answer session, and a bus ride for the family. It’s a free program open to both riders and children who walk or wheel to school.

The program is at multiple sites located in Mount Forest, Elora, Rockwood, Shelburne, Mono, and Guelph. Wheelchair accessible sites are available.

Sessions are at 9, 10 and 11 a.m. and each session is approximately 45 minutes in length.

Participants must register online for the program at http://forms.logiforms.com/formdata/user_forms/77015_9941229/364304/page1.html?cachebust=2012. Registration closes on August 20, 2019.
