Grade 8 students at Rickson Ridge PS make videos to share their “moments of truth”

GUELPH, Ontario – Grade 8 students at Rickson Ridge Public School have been very busy over the last few weeks as they prepared videos where they speak to their “moments of truth.”

These students are very passionate about Indigenous Education and because of this passion used this topic for their videos.

According to grade 8 teacher Ms. Walker, students “have created one minute ‘moments of truth’ on video. They are like a PSA but each video addresses a truth about the relationship between Indigenous Peoples and Canada.”

Students shot footage for their videos, used clips from the media and did all of the editing on their own.

As a class, students decided they would release their “moments of truth” on June 21 as a way of reflecting on National Indigenous Peoples Day.
