James McQueen PS brings parents into the classroom on family math night

FERGUS, Ontario – This week James McQueen Public School celebrated Education Week by hosting a family event dedicated to math.
The school, supported by the School Council, held Math Night on May 2.
The purpose of the night was to share with parents and guardians a range of activities, all of which involve materials commonly found in homes, to engage children in thinking mathematically.
Teaching staff worked with parents to provide insight and guidance on how to support their child with mathematical thinking.
More than 150 people came out to the event, which was a positive and engaging learning experience for all involved.
