John Galt PS girls football team gets a gift from the CFL

GUELPH, Ontario – The girls football team at John Galt Public School has received a special gift from the Canadian Football League.

John Galt PS teacher and coach Bill Brown said the team received a shipment of free football equipment for the girls team as part of the CFL’s #TryFootball campaign. Through the campaign, the CFL plans to distribute approximately 11,500 free footballs.

Earlier this month, Mr. Brown tweeted to the CFL, with photos of the team and a request:

The league responded within minutes, letting the team know that some footballs and flag belts were on their way.

The shipment arrived and was received by much excitement from the players.

Brown said having equipment is key to getting young people involved.
