Junior runners tackle the course at Aberfoyle cross-country meet

PUSLINCH, Ontario – Runners from schools in and around Guelph went the distance on Monday, competing in the 2017 Aberfoyle cross-country meet.

A total of 293 junior students crossed the finish line, after running the 1,520 meter course.

The meet was held on Oct. 23 at the Puslinch Community Centre.

School teams were required to have a team of four runners per race in order to score. The lowest team score from each grouping won the race.

The team from Guelph Lake PS won the in 9-year-old girls category. Aberfoyle PS won in the 9-year-old boys’ race. In the 10-year age group, John Galt PS’s team won for the girls and Ken Danby PS’s team placed first in the boys category. King George PS’s team won in the 11-year-old girls category, and Ottawa Crescent PS’s team won in the boys category.

Many thanks to the school staff, marshals, timers, parents volunteers that participated, and congratulations to all the junior runners.
