Ken Danby PS students create Earth inspired art piece

GUELPH, ON – Students in the Ken Danby Public School Intermediate Art Club have been working hard this spring.
With Earth Month and Earth Day in mind, students in the Art Club were recently asked, “How might we create a work of art that celebrates our Earth and recognizes the current challenges it is now facing?”
Through the inquiry process, students planned a collaborative art piece that incorporated the elements of art and the exploration of climate issues. Students used their research and their personal feelings about the Earth as inspiration for their art pieces. While working on this project, each student also reflected that personal actions to help support the Earth are important no matter how big or small.
The school would like to thank Mme. Wright and Mrs. Fedy for their continued support of the Intermediate Art Club and for helping to facilitate this fun opportunity for students.
