Life after high school: Individuals with developmental disabilities and their families invited to information fair

GUELPH, Ontario – This November, families and caregivers are invited to an event that explores life after secondary school for individuals with developmental disabilities.

On Wednesday Nov. 16, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., an information fair will be held at John F. Ross CVI in Guelph.

“Life After High School” is being hosted by the Upper Grand District School Board, in partnership with Developmental Services Ontario, Community Living Guelph Wellington and the Wellington Catholic DSB.

The event is for families who have children with developmental disabilities who might have questions about life after school. Families and caregivers will be able to explore opportunities for day programs and respite opportunities, as well as receive information on community agencies who are providing services.

From 6:30 to 7 p.m., Community Service Providers will provide families with information about the Community Participation Supports and Services they offer. From 7 to 8 p.m., there will be a panel discussion with Community Service Providers. There will also be time for a question and answer period. For the remainder of the night, families will be able to again explore the resources displays and speak to community representatives.
