Many students take Food Handler Exam at John F. Ross

GUELPH, Ontario – Many students at John F. Ross CVI took the Food Handler’s Exam on March 1.

Wellington Dufferin Guelph Public Health (WDGPH) was on site at John F. Ross CVI between 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. to proctor the exam for approximately 100 students. Prior to the final exam, students studied the Food Handler’s Course.

The students taking the exam are enroled in a food and cooking related course offered through the Family Studies Department.

John F. Ross CVI recently expanded the number of students writing the exam. Now, grade 10-12 food classes can participate. That is about 10% of the school becoming certified food handlers.

A number of UGDSB secondary schools also offer Food Handler certification, through culinary hospitality programs and food courses, including Centennial CVI, Guelph CVI, and College Heights SS.

Congratulations to all the students at John F. Ross CVI for becoming certified food handlers.
