Ponsonby PS receives donation to support technology in the school

June 17, 2016

Ponsonby Public School has received a $2,000 donation to support technology in the school.

IBM Canada Ltd made the donation that will support the purchase of a new Chromebook, iPad mini, and a green screen. The addition of these technologies in the school will help all students stay engaged in 21st century learning, regardless of whether or not they have access to these technologies at home.

The donation is part of the IBM Community Grant program, eligible to community organizations and schools that have had IBM employees volunteering their time there.

IBM employee Gordon Alexander volunteered his time at the school, helping to promote science and technology education for children ages 10-12, and teaching students about cognitive computing, the history and basics of computer science and more.

You can read more about these education sessions on Ponsonby’s website.
