Provincial Skills medal winners – secondary

GUELPH, Ontario — Secondary students in the Upper Grand District School Board took home three gold, two silver and four bronze medals from the Ontario Technological Skills Competition held at RIM Park in Waterloo on May 1-2, 2011.
The annual event at RIM Park is the largest skilled trades competition in Canada, with 1,800 students competing in over 60 skilled trade contest areas in front of thousands of spectators.
This year’s UGDSB winners were:
- Architectural Technology and Design – CWDHS – Chad – Bronze
- Computer Aided Manufacturing – EDHS – Jacob – Gold
- Carpentry – Individual – WHSS – Joey – Bronze
- Carpentry – Team of 2 – WHSS – Trevor and Jesse – Gold
- Floristry – CWDHS – Sarah – Silver
- Home Build – Team of 4 – WHSS – Brian, Craig, Jason, Dean – Gold
- Job Skills Demonstration – CWDHS – Andrew – Bronze
- Landscape Gardening – Team of 2 – CHSS – Amanda and Josh – Bronze
- Workplace Safety – EDHS – Robelle – Silver
