Results of the 2014 Elementary Skills Competition

GUELPH, Ontario – Twelve teams of elementary students from the Upper Grand District School Board will be heading off to the 2014 Ontario Technological Skills Competition at RIM Park in Waterloo on May 5-7.
The teams were first place finishers in the 7th Annual UGDSB Elementary Skills Competition held on April 3, 2014 at College Heights Secondary School and Centennial Arena. Approximately 775 students from schools throughout the district competed in events that required enthusiasm, teamwork, knowledge, creativity and hands-on problem solving skills.
Below is a list of the top teams for each of the 12 events.
Intermediate
Tech (Design and Build) – 1st Drayton Heights Public School, 2nd Grand Valley PS, 3rd Primrose PS.
Tech (Construction) – 1st John McCrae Public School, 2nd Willow Road PS, 3rd Elora PS.
Tech (Green Energy) – 1st John Galt Public School, 2nd JD Hogarth PS, 3rd Mitchell Woods PS.
Character Animation – 1st Mitchell Woods Public School, 2nd Waverley Drive PS, 3rd Aberfoyle PS.
Lego Robotics – 1st Hyland Heights Elementary School, 2nd Primrose PS, 3rd-Arthur PS.
Lego Mechanics – 1st Minto-Clifford Public School, 2nd Erin PS, 3rd Aberfoyle PS.
Workplace Health and Safety – 1st Elora Public School, 2nd Waverley Drive PS, 3rd Westwood PS
TV/Video – 1st Elora Public School, 2nd-John Black PS, 3rd Mitchell Woods PS.
