Students and staff at ODSS embrace the season of giving

December 23, 2016

ORANGEVILLE, Ontario – The students and staff at Orangeville District Secondary School embraced the spirit of giving this holiday season.

On December 23, Principal Darryl Kirkland addressed the school to thank them for their compassion. “Let’s try to show the holiday spirit by focusing not on the ‘things’ of the holidays, but the spirit of kindness and giving. Let’s show compassion.”

In the true spirit of compassion and generosity, students and staff were able to make an impact on the community by raising approximately $4,000 and giving gift cards to more than 80 children.

Principal Kirkland believes that it isn’t the impact of the numbers, but the looks of joy on their faces, the smiles and the genuine thank-yous that truly made staff and students feel the impact of their generosity.

Parents of the children that benefited from the generosity of students were so thankful to receive such kindness.

ODSS did a great job spreading the holiday spirit and should be very proud of their efforts.
