Students encouraged to submit writing, artwork showcasing diversity for the 2018 Multicultural Festival

GUELPH, Ontario – K-12 students in Guelph-Wellington-Dufferin are being encouraged to showcase their talents as part of the Guelph & District Multicultural Festival.
The Multicultural Festival originally began in 1978. It’s mission is “to deliver a world-class affordable and accessible multi-faceted cultural experience to Guelph’s residents and visitors,” and to celebrate the area’s rich and diverse cultural heritage. Every year, the festival features numerous performances, activities, craft vendors and food vendors.
One part of the festival is a school poster and writing exhibit. All students in Guelph-Wellington-Dufferin are welcome to submit work for the exhibit.
This year’s theme is “One World Living Together.” Drawing on the Festival’s core objectives of unity and peace, students are asked to submit work that illustrates the multicultural nature of Canadian society.
Students can submit short writing entries, original poster designs or original digital art entries, and can participate as an individual or as part of their school class’s submission.
This year’s festival is from June 8 to 10, 2018, at Riverside Park in Guelph.
