UG schools perform at Pride and inclusion concert

May 29, 2023

Guelph, ON – With Pride Month right around the corner, students at the Upper Grand District School Board (UGDSB) got a head start at celebrating by throwing a concert performance for Pride and inclusion.

Last week Friday, Guelph CVI, Centennial CVI, and John F. Ross performed together and separately in John F. Ross’ auditorium. Funds were raised at the concert to support Egale Canada – an advocacy organization for 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals and their families.

Present at the concert was guest composer and conductor Randall Standridge who conducted the bands at different points throughout the evening. Each band performed two songs, one of their choosing and one of Standridge’s.

Several of the elementary schools also got involved in the celebration, with students 6 through 8 were present at the concert.
