UG students and staff celebrate Special Olympics Bocce

GUELPH, ON – Hundreds of student athletes from across the Upper Grand District School Board came together on March 5, 2024, at the Royal Distributing Athletic Performance Centre to participate in Special Olympics Bocce.

Participating in the event were 180 students total, 166 athletes from eight UG secondary schools and 14 athletes from the Wellington Catholic District School Board.

Participating schools from Upper Grand included Centennial CVI, Centre Dufferin DHS, Centre Wellington DHS, Guelph CVI, John F Ross CVI, Norwell DSS, Orangeville DSS, and Wellington Heights SS. The excitement on the field could be heard on each of the nine courts and throughout the entire building as students put their Bocce skills to the test.
