UGDSB schools participate in Cricket Tournament

GUELPH, ON – On Friday, October 13, 2023, John F. Ross Collegiate Vocational Institute and Guelph Collegiate Vocational Institute participated in a cricket tournament at Margaret Greene Park in Guelph.   

Both teams played well with John F. Ross CVI winning the morning match and Guelph CVI winning the afternoon match.   

During the morning match, John F. Ross CVI won with 91 runs 1 wicket over GCVI’s 90 runs 5 wickets. During the afternoon match, GCVI won with 58 runs 5 wickets over John F. Ross CVI’s 57 runs all out.   

Community volunteer Miyuru Sahan was able to umpire for the entire day and was thanked for his service with a gift from the Ross Athletics Department. Jesse Lloyd from GCVI acted as square-leg umpire and Claire Richards from John F. Ross CVI kept score.   

Congratulations to all students and staff involved in this tournament.
