UGDSB shares resource for parents of youth with Intellectual Disabilities

GUELPH, Ontario – The Upper Grand District School Board in collaboration with Developmental Services, Passport Services, Family Counselling and Support Services for Guelph Wellington and the Wellington Catholic District School Board have created a presentation for parents and guardians of youth with intellectual disabilities.
This resource is to help parents/guardians and youth navigate the transition between high school and adult life. The video is intended for parents and guardians of youth aged 15 to 21. Topics in the presentation include:
- The transition plan
- Making the transition from school to adult life
- How and when to connect to adult developmental services
- Community resources
- Passport funding (community participation funding allocated to eligible individuals)
- Service coordination
